Dennis Rodman made the news often at the beginning of 2014. His controversial trip to North Korea and his subsequent appearance on CNN made headlines. However, it wasn’t just his international travel that was noticed in the United States. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as the state of Michigan and the state of California, were also looking at Mr. Rodman.

It May Be Difficult to Worm Out of These Tax Troubles

It is estimated that Mr. Rodman owes approximately $453,027 in unpaid taxes to three taxing authorities. More specifically, his outstanding tax debt allegedly breaks down as follows:

  • To the IRS: Mr. Rodman reportedly owes $165,818
  • To the State of Michigan: Mr. Rodman reportedly owes $8,666.99
  • To the State of California: Mr. Rodman reportedly owes $278,543.

Some of the unpaid taxes included in the amounts reported above reportedly date back to 2007. It is unclear why Mr. Rodman had unpaid taxes and, as of early January, he had not commented on these debts in the media.
